"Sponsored by Berkshires Jazz, Inc. , the festival kicks off on Friday, Oct. 10, with Jazz About Town, more casually known as a “jazz crawl,” which continues through the Columbus Day weekend. As many as a dozen local restaurants and lounges present the best of Berkshires established performers, at no cover or minimum. Schedule updates will be posted at www.BerkshiresJazz.org.

Most of the festival’s events are free, including the jazz crawl and the jazz prodigy concert.
The tenth annual
Pittsfield CityJazz Festival runs from Oct. 10-19, 2014 in various venues in downtown Pittsfield. A signature cultural event of the fall foliage season in western Massachusetts, the music spans the spectrum of jazz. In addition to the region’s top big band, the lineup includes four of the top female jazz performers, the annual “jazz crawl” that features local musicians in restaurants and lounges throughout downtown; and a new entry in the Jazz Prodigy series."

"You Already Know How to Sing" Book

Includes 2 CDs with 160 minutes of exercises!

Why this book works: Often we singers get in our own way by
thinking too much, trying too hard and by making things too complicated.

This method works for all styles of music - pop, theater, jazz, rock, R&B, gospel and classical. This book simplifies the approach to naturally open and powerful singing and, through the process of letting go, you, the singer - will discover much of what you want from your voice:

• More naturally powerful, consistent, open, beautiful sound and tone
• Improved/extended range
• Improved pitch accuracy
• More breath at your command and more efficient use of breath
• Improved ability to transition through break areas with less effort and without loss of tone
• More flexibility with which to do more with your voice
• More freedom and confidence for free expression through your singing
• Exercises which you can directly apply to your songs and to specific problem areas

Packed full of productive and easy exercises, visualizations, cartoons and illustrations to help simplify the thought process and therefore the singer’s approach to technique. This book has
helped hundreds, even thousands of students! Humor, Simplicity, Results!

Known as one of the world’s leading jazz singers, Stephanie Nakasian will take you on a melodic voyage, fresh and authentic that transcends the Great Ladies of Song in both tribute and originality.
