20s-30s Flashback: Stephanie & Her Speakeasy Band
For New Year's Eve 2019-2020, Stephanie was hired to bring in a Speakeasy style band from the 20s and 30s to a grand ole hotel in historic Staunton, VA. The band was piano, bass, drums, vocal and a horn player who played trumpet, trombone, clarinet, sax (not all at the same time). Together they offered great lively dance classics like “Bye Bye Blackbird” and “The Charleston” and Depression songs like “Sunny Side of the Street.”
The band dressed in appropriate costumes and people danced and partied with abandon. The night was a big success and Stephanie wants to bring this New Year's type of celebration to other towns – on any night of the year! Why not?
