Johnny Mercer: “Autumn Leaves”
This show was created for a performance at UNCW in Wilmington, NC with famed historian/author Philip Furia who narrated the show with Power Point Presentation and many great stories about Mercer from his book. Stephanie incorporates much of this in her show and includes stories about Mercer's love affair with Judy Garland and his life in Savannah, NY, and Hollywood. Just some of his numerous great songs include: “Autumn Leaves,” “Skylark,” “Accentuate the Positive,” and “One for my baby”. Mercer wrote many songs both as composer and lyricist and others in collaboration with composers such as Harold Arlen, Duke Ellington and Henry Mancini, to name a few.
